     4-Rounds, Swiss-System Chess Tournament, 30 Moves/90 Minutes, Then Sudden Death/1 Hour (30/90, SD/60). Two separate sections.

1. Open Section, open to all.   FIDE-Rated.

Prizes: 1st - $400,   2nd - $200,   3rd - $100,

Top-Scoring Player Rated Under 2200 (or Unrated) - $100

2. Under 2000 Section, open to players rated Under 2000, or Unrated players.

Prizes: 1st - $200,   2nd - $100,

($100 prize limit to Unrated players)

Top-Scoring Player Rated Under 1800 - $100

     All prizes proportioned on 60 total paid entries, except a minimum of half each prize is GUARANTEED! Unrateds may enter either section, EXCEPT non-U.S. unrateds must enter Open Section.

      Current USCF membership is required of ALL PLAYERS.  The March 2011 Official USCF Rating List  will be used for this event.  CCA minimum ratings  may also be used at the Director's discretion.

     Entry Fee: $45, Marshall Club Members $30-- ENTRY FEES $2 LESS for players registering online no later than the Thursday before the tournament! $2 ADVANCE ENTRY FEE DISCOUNT APPLIES ONLY FOR PLAYERS REGISTERING ONLINE! NO OTHER ADVANCE ENTRY DISCOUNTS ARE AVAILABLE!

Your choice of two separate playing options:

    1. Two-Day Schedule,

       Round times:

      12:30 and 5:30 pm both days;

     2. One-Day Schedule,

       Round times:

      Sunday at 10 am, 11:15 am, 12:30 pm and 5:30 pm  (rounds 1-2 of the 1-Day Schedule only are Game/30; both schedules merge for Round 3 at 12:30 pm on Sunday).

      Players who register in advance should be at the Marshall Chess Club when their first game begins. Players who do not register in advance must register at site, at least 15 minutes before their first game. On-site registration IS ONLY ON THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT, AFTER 11:30 AM. Limit of two half-point byes available if committed to before Round 2. Re-entry: $20.

    Current membership in the U.S. Chess Federation is required of all participants (in any USCF-rated tournament).  USCF membership dues may be paid when registering for the tournament, by adding the cost of a USCF membership to your entry order, on the first page.  USCF Membership dues are not refundable.

       Entry fees less $3 service charge refunded to players who notify the Tournament Director that they will withdraw from the tournament NO LATER THAN THE THURSDAY BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT. $5 service charge for each player refund requested on the Friday before the tournament-- BEFORE 8 pm. NO EMAIL RECEIVED AFTER 8 PM ON THE FRIDAY BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT.

     $5 service charge for each player refund requested by phone on the day of the tournament-- AT LEAST 15 MINUTES BEFORE GAME BEGINS. ** NO REFUNDS ALLOWED AFTER 15 MINUTES BEFORE GAME BEGINS. NO REFUNDS TO PLAYERS WHO FORFEIT WITHOUT PROPER ADVANCE NOTICE (NO-SHOWS)! **

     WE DO NOT "CONFIRM" ENTRY CONFIRMATIONS-- by phone, mail or email! If you did NOT receive a confirmation of your online registration, that means your online payment was not sucessfully received, and you are  NOT registered for the tournament.
